to create a downstream instance of a forelink with a different name would also create an alias. That is, if I write a page called “United States” and then later I link to that via “US” it should create a page alias

in Markdown this is super sus. you gotta type [[main_page|alia]] and then alias isn’t even visible to the main_page except in the case that Backlinks show full context

Alternative titles should still be SEO optimized

should populate as Search results

one nice thing about alternative titles is that they’ll still maintain the Page icon / page image

on MediaWiki there’s redirect pages. on Obsidian and Notion no such thing exists.
