Thinking about how to process payments on WeWrite.

😍 Monero only

• Pros
  • Great financial privacy
  • Possibly an easier build-out
  • Trustless (no banks, clearinghouses, stripe)
  • No chargebacks, disputes, or account shutdowns.
  • Math can’t be stopped
• Cons
  • Might attract undue legal regulatory suspicion, which would require us to look at the WeWrite as a decentralized and open source protocol route
  • Have to fill up your damn wallet smh
  • Have to set up your wallet - write seed phrases etc

🤑 Fiat currency only

• Pros
  • Public perception, market acceptance
  • Larger market
  • Possibly less complex onboarding for all parties involved
  • Pulls directly from bank, no need to top off account (unless that’s a better UX)
• Cons
  • Dissidents could have their accounts shut down via legal requests - especially in a US election cycle

🤔 Both

• Pros
  • Offer users the choice
• Cons
  • Much harder legal / compliance strategy needed
  • Choices confuse users
  • People might choose unsafe (fiat) route when they ought to choose Monero (if they’re journalists, let’s say)
  • Still attracts legal suspicion, but with far more eng time spent on much more complex implementation, which sucks

we could probably avoid legal troubles and financial complexities by doing only monero and not even listing dollar exchange rates 🤣😭
